Classic Steak Fajitas Recipe with Peppers and Onions

Few meals are as satisfying and versatile as steak fajitas. Sizzling hot with tender steak, colorful peppers, and onions, this dish is perfect for both weeknight dinners and festive gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs flank or skirt steak
- 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Flour or corn tortillas
- Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, shredded cheese, avocado
Instructions
- Season the Steak – Rub steak with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let sit 20 minutes.
- Cook the Steak – Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high. Cook steak 4–5 minutes per side for medium rare. Remove and let rest.
- Sauté the Vegetables – In the same pan, add peppers and onions. Cook until softened and slightly charred.
- Slice the Steak – Cut thinly against the grain.
- Assemble Fajitas – Fill tortillas with steak, peppers, and onions. Add toppings as desired.
