Recipe for Steak Fajitas

steak fajitas recipeAlmost any cut of steak can be used for steak fajitas. This recipe uses flank steak but you can substitute an other cut if you want.

  • 1 1/2 lb flank steak sliced into 1/2 inch strips
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 4 oz. pkg. shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 sm. green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • Bottled salsa

Mix together lime juice, olive oil and garlic in medium bowl with a cover. Add meat cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight. Heat oil in heavy skillet. Fry meat quickly over medium high heat until browned, remove from heat.

Fill each flour tortilla with about 3/4 cup meat. Place cheese, lettuce, tomato, green pepper, green onions on each warmed tortilla. Place sour cream in bowls for topping for steak fajitas. These steak fajitas will serve 4.
